I am presenting the 7th annual Give the Drummer Some benefit concert! Time has flown and money has been raised for the Jazz Studies Program at North Carolina Central University. There will be a series of music and percussion centered workshops held from 2:00 thru 5:00pm earlier on the day. Be sure to come experience the quality of musicians that the NCCU Jazz Studies program has produced over the years.

The “Power Trio” is coming back together to give you a delightful Thursday afternoon of music. Joining me is Baron Tymas on Guitar and Damon Brown on Bass.

I will join Lisa Simone, daughter of legendary vocalist Nina Simone, Lenora Helm Hammonds and her Tribe Jazz Orchestra to celebrate the music and life of Nina. Be sure to get your tickets early!
Proceeds from the concert will benefit the rehabilitation and preservation of the Nina Simone Childhood Home in Tryon, North Carolina.

Baron Tymas and William Ledbetter will help me make music during King’s book signing at the Gregg Museum! I’m so excited and proud that King has a book of his artwork! Come to NC State’s Gregg Museum and listen to some music while looking at art. Be sure to buy a book while you’re there also. I think this book will become a collectable item in the future. There is a limited number from this initial pressing.

I will bring my sextet from the CD “The Seeker”, to Wilson NC! We will play music from the CD as well as new music for you to dance and sing along! Be sure to get there early so you have a good seat! I hope it’s a nice day with a slight breeze so we experience all the “Spinning” the Whirligig Park offers. This concert is FREE and open to the public!

I’m heading back to my hometown of Elizabeth City, NC to play with the GREAT Shana Tucker! I'm excited to see so many of my family and friends. We will spend 2 days working with Elizabeth City State University’s jazz ensemble.

Lenora is going to record her Big Band! This is one you don’t want to miss! It’s going to be great! This is a “Jam Packed” All-Star band featuring some of the Country’s and state of NC best and brightest players. Be sure to get your tickets and get to the Hayti early for a good seat.
